ARTHROPODS

Arthropod parasites cause major problems in domestic animals and man often resulting in long term inflammation and irritation but some are also capable of rapid morbidity and death. Examples on this page are Sarcoptic mites that cause mange in a wide range of hosts including humans, ticks that suck blood and transmit some very dangerous infections such as Babesia and the Sheep blowfly that kills around 2 million sheep per year in Australia
