Animal: Mosquito (epidemiology) 2 10.jpg
Mosquito epidemiology - bloodmeals habits. Proportion of mosquito feeds (all species) is associated with the proportion of weight of children less than 18 months old and older persons (also found to be related to the surface area of persons). However, this is likely only to apply if the hosts are in close proximity. Infants under 18months are fed on more than older children who are fed on same as adults are with significance implications for malarial epidemiology. see Port, Boreham and Bryan. 1980. Bull. Ent. Res. 70: 133-144.
