A study of mosquito feeding habits on mothers and babies was conducted in this village of the Kano Plains, Kisuma in Kenya. It was found that the mother is fed on more than the baby. see slide 1.08 and Boreham, Chandler and Jolly. 1978. J. Trop. Med. Hyg. 81: 63-67. PFL Boreham did a significant amount of research on blood meals of mosquitos and other arthropods to answer epidemiological questions. Work to investigate the significance of multiple feeding by Peter and his colleagues was supported by WHO and MRC grants - see Boreham. PFL. 1988. DSc.
